Once a rich hunting ground, this valley has long been a place for powerful spiritual ceremonies, deeply connecting people to the land, its energy, and its ancient wisdom.
The Maligne Valley is home to grizzly bears, black bears, moose, mountain goats, bighorn sheep,.cougars, lynx, eagles and more. It has the highest concentration of wildlife in all of the Rockies.
With every step, you’ll feel a profound sense of belonging and a deeper appreciation for the timeless rhythms of nature.
Sample Itinerary
- 8:00 am.
- I will meet you at your hotel and we will travel in your rental car. (A vehicle can be arranged upon request.)
- 8:45 am
- Arrive at the mysterious Medicine Lake to do a walk of your choice and learn the secrets about how the lake disappears each year and why the indigineous considered this a sacred place for women.
- 9:45 am
- Arrive at Maligne Lake, the longest glacier fed lake in North America.
- Short walk to a sweeping view of the lake, or possible spot a moose on the moose lake loop!
- 11:00 am Option to take the cruise to Spirit Island.
- 12:30 Lunch at the Lakehouse or bring your own picnic lunch.
- 1:30 pm Head back down the valley stopping for wildlife viewing.
- 2:00 pm Explore one of the secret local gems of Jasper.
- 3:00 pm Arrive back at hotel
